Hibernation time is almost over....
Before we schedule or annual winter gathering at our long lost summer watering hole, a few notes...
First and foremost, please forgive the lack of a final re-cap. It was, by far, so very hard to quickly put into words what was swimming around in my head after the TREMENDOUS season we put together - especially after we missed the Holy Grail by such a small margin. It does not take away the success of what we accomplished at all, it was just tough to pen it at the time and as time passed, I wanted to leave it on the field as it was. It was momentus, beautiful, satisfying, but I want just a little more. You do too. Congratulations on an amazing season. We played as many games as we possibly could. I have never been prouder to be a part of any team.
On to 2009.
It's time for our annual Bears Winter Meeting. This is the time where we take whatever it is we're doing on a winter Wednesday in February, drop it, and head to Brother Jimmy's on the West Side to get man hugs from the boys of summer we miss so much, a mouthfull of rib tips and wings, a bellyfull of ice cold PBR and Natty Lights, and an eyeful of NYC's young hotties. Plus, its a chance to see where we're at in terms of who's coming back, and a chance to pre-warn the bartender and manager that the Bear's will be back weekly in no time. And the sponsorship push is FULL ON.
Proposed Dates: Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 or Wednesday, February 25th.
I propose Wednesday's because it's "our day" and the beers are $2 a pop. However, I am more than willing to switch (besides a Thursday) to accomodate a time when the higest percentage of us can make it. Start thinking now and let's get it done.
Once again, congratulations on a fantastic '08 and I can't wait to see everyone very soon!!!
